FRANKFURT, GERMANY – (April 24, 2009) – To the delight of millions of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Duelists in Europe and Latin America, Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH (KDE) is pleased to announce today that all European and Latin American National Championships will be held as planned. The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG National Championships are some of the largest and most prestigious events held around the world each year, as Duelists worldwide vie to be crowned the World Champion of 2009.

“European and Latin American Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Duelists can now organize their Decks and begin training for their National Championships,” noted Kunio Neo, President of Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “For Europe, winning their National Championship is the first step in the journey to the European Championships. The top four finalists from the European Championship will win a paid trip for the chance to win the highest honors at the World Championship in Japan.”

1. Who is going to run my Nationals – Konami or Upper Deck?
A: The European and Latin American Nationals will be Konami events.
Resumiendo nos dicen que los Nacionales en todo el mundo seran eventos de Konami.

2. My country’s Nationals already took place and were run by Upper Deck – were these official?
A: Anybody who has already qualified for the European Championship will be extended an invitation to the European Championship.

3. I heard that the Game Mats and SJC Prize Cards that Upper Deck promised as prizes were cancelled.
A: Although the Game Mats and Prize Cards cannot be given out at those events, Konami honors its promises, and will send out those prizes as soon as possible afterwards.

4. I qualified for Nationals at a qualifier event, and was promised another GameMat as a prize for that, but Upper Deck said you didn’t allow them to give it to me.
A: Don’t worry – we will be sending out a Game Mat to you in due course!

5. Are there going to be side events at the Nationals?
A: There should be side events at the Nationals, although there may be some limit to availability.

6. Is there going to be a Yu-Gi-Oh! European Championship in Lille on June 27/28?
A: There is definitely going to be a Yu-Gi-Oh! European Championship, but we will need a bit more time before we can announce details.

7. I heard the Australian Nationals were cancelled. Is that true?
A: There will be an Australian Nationals – we will be announcing the revised details shortly. Keep visiting www.yugioh-card.com and click on the Australian flag for details!

8. What about the Qualifiers for Australian Nationals?
A: Upper Deck will run these in Konami’s name and on Konami’s behalf, as they do for the other Nationals.

9. What about the Raging Battle Sneak Previews that were scheduled for May 9 and 10?
A: Unfortunately, these can’t take place on those dates, due to unavoidable delays in production. We will announce more details regarding upcoming releases as soon as possible.

10. What about other tournaments, my ranking, COSSY or my judge level?
A: Again, we need to ask for a little more of your patience on these issues, but promise to give you news on all of them soon.

Shonen Jump Aneheim.

El fin de semana pasado(25-26/IV/09) se realizo el primer Shoen Jump organizado por Konami en la ciudad de Aneheim. El ganador fue George Garcia con una Gladial. En quano a decks la cosa quedo un tanto extraña entrando decks los quales no estamos acostumbrados a verlos entrar en un top16 de un toreno de estas caracteristicas.

COSSY. Funcionamiento y primeras imagenes.

Para aquel que no lo sepa con la llegada de Konami al JO entrara en vigor un nuevo sistema de ranking llamado COSSY. Al hacerte el numero se te proporcionara un carnet y un codigo de barras mediante el qual sera mas facil registrarte para participar en torneos.

The Barcode Scanners have been in use in Japan and will be utilized for the first time in North America this year. Registering players for your events will now be a snap – Konami’s player ID cards feature a barcode system which allows you to input your players’ data directly into the COSSY system with a single swipe through the USB-enabled barcode scanner. COSSY will also track each player’s record during the event. Once the tournament is over and final results have been submitted and confirmed, the COSSY system will update your players’ rankings online - automatically. There are an estimated 300 lucky Store owners that are Official Konami Tournament Stores who will be the first to utilize the Barcode Scanner absolutely free.
